Current openings

Executive Producer
WBRZ-TV has an immediate opening for a morning Executive Producer. This position will manage our 4-hour show, as well as oversee WBRZ.com and social media sites during your shift. Producing experience required and some management expertise preferred. Great producers from small markets are encouraged to apply. We want someone that aggressively responds to breaking news and is able to coach and train new employees.
Specific duties include:

    • Overseeing the TV and Digital product in the morning - executing strategy set by News Director
    • Managing all news gathering operations in the morning, inclusive of planning for the future
    • Responsible for producer schedules. Approves all scripts to ensure our strategy goals are being met, stories are complete and well-written, and adding a creative element or showcasing. Trains, recruits new producers.

Director of Production
WBRZ, the family-owned TV station in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is looking for a Creative Services Director to run the Commercial Production Department. The director will lead a small team of creative writers, editors, and cinematographers. The primary role of the Commercial Production Department is to support the sales team by creating commercials for Baton Rouge’s local businesses. They also assist the station with special projects and are instrumental in helping to start new local programming and assisting the newsroom with documentaries. In this role, there is room to flex your creative aspirations and the support you need to start passion projects. Applicants must have an understanding of marketing, copywriting, editing, and videography with at least 6 years of experience in production and 2 years of experience in a leadership/management role. WBRZ is searching for an Investigative Reporter to add to our award-winning Investigative Unit. A successful candidate should have a knack for navigating complex stories and holding officials accountable. You'll enterprise, research, write and investigate stories for our broadcast and digital platforms. At least two years of TV, radio, newspaper, or online newsroom experience is required. Multi-media journalist/TV reporter

Master Control Operator
Are you a tech-savvy professional with a passion for the broadcasting industry? If so, we would like to invite you to apply for our Master Control Operator position at WBRZ. As a Master Control Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the on-air content quality and accuracy of our broadcast, acquiring and organizing media content, monitoring and controlling the transmission equipment, and troubleshooting technical issues.

      • Monitor and ensure quality control of on-air content
      • Manage on-air playlists and scheduling
      • Acquire, record, and organize media content

WBRZ Account Executive
WBRZ- TV is looking for a highly motivated and competitive business professional who is a self-starter to sell advertising solutions to local businesses including digital asset strategies.
The applicant is expected to:

      • Manage and grow an existing account list,
      • Develop new business,
      • Employ excellent communication and organizational skills
      • Meet all revenue and new business goals for multiple entities.


Required Experience:
Ad sales experience is preferred, including knowledge of Comscore ratings, Power Point and other Windows-based software. A college degree and advertising sales experience is preferred.

Part-time Runner / Helper
WBRZ-TV has an opening for an entry-level Part-time Runner / Helper. This position is ideal for a student taking afternoon classes and available to work in the mornings only. The duties consist of running errands, light maintenance, moving equipment and supplies, lifting approximately 30-50 lbs., light office duties. Must be dependable and have a valid driver's license with a good driving record. The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM with some afternoons on approval. Internships
WBRZ offers internships each semester in the following departments: News, Marketing, Information Systems, Production, Graphics, Sports, and Weather. Interns will experience firsthand the daily operations of the department and will perform various duties as assigned. Student must be enrolled in a station approved college/university and be approved by the college dean/advisor/chair to take an internship course for curriculum credit and grade.
